Dissertation Binding

Lately, dissertation binding became one of the important requirements for the dissertation design. A lot of universities, colleges and other higher educational institutions require students to bind at least two copies of their dissertation. These copies will be included into the college or university archive after your graduation. First one will be kept in the college or university circulating collection, while the other one will be placed to the library archive of your college or university. If you want to present a bound copy of your dissertation to someone (your supervisor, your professor, your parents etc.), or leave a copy for yourself, you may bind more copies of your dissertation.

The dissertation binding requirements may differ a lot. First of all, the requirements for the dissertation binding depend on your college or university requirements. But there also exist some general requirements for the dissertation binding, such as: The print of a dissertation has to be single sided. It is also necessary to print a dissertation on ‘archival’, acid free paper, because a paper of other sort may yellow or deteriorate. The copies, which you submit for binding, have to be signed by your dissertation advisor.

You had better revise the copies before binding, as no one will do it for you. Check the pages order. Make sure that there are no missing pages. Remember that if something will go wrong, you will have to submit your dissertation for binding once again. And the dissertation binding is not very cheap. Moreover, you will loose a lot of your precious time. So, you will ease your work and save your time and money if you check all the copies of your dissertation submitted to binding before the procedure will take place.
